Whilst many of the villages in the area are heavily visited, it is possible to walk here and experience real authentic village life. After our 10-12 km hike a well deserved lunch awaits for us at a local guesthouse.


Cycling in Transylvania


Cycle to Cristian village, where you will visit the charming streets and admire the unique old Saxon houses, most of them dating back to the 1800s. Once we reach the center, we will visit the evangelic fortified church, built in the 12th-13th century. After a brief history lesson, we will continue our tour with a fast stretch of paved road towards Vulcan, where we will tackle our first climb of the day, a 4-kilometer twisting road towards the village of Holbav. During the climb, feel free to stop and admire the stunning scenery and the mountains. Once we reach Holbav, we can stop at a local shop for refreshments and exit the village. We will ride along the river, through a picturesque valley, saluting the villagers who are working the land. Here, at a local household, we will enjoy a well-deserved traditional lunch at a local household. In the end, we’ll descend back to Vulcan and end the tour in Brasov.
