*All cruise tours depart from the National Aquarium – please see note below* This scenic tour will depart Napier, following the coastline before heading inland to follow the beautiful Tukituki River with stunning views across the valley and the Havelock North hills to Te Mata Peak. You will then cross the river, heading past Craggy Range winery and into Havelock North before starting the exhilarating climb, almost 400m, to the top of the Peak with spectacular, 360-degree panoramic views of Hawkes Bay and on a clear day as far as the volcanic Ruapehu! Climbing a mountain on a V8 trike can be an experience to remember, great for celebrating birthdays or that special occasion. We spend approximately 20 mins at the Peak before heading back down through the orchards and vineyards. Napier does not have a cruise passenger terminal so all passengers a required to hop on the free shuttles into the city, the second stop is the National Aquarium which is where our cruise tours depart from.

Travel through the beautiful rural pastures outside the city, make a stop close to the top of Te Mata Peak with incredible sightings, and explore the unique architecture of Hastings and Napier.

Experience two unique wineries, a Maori cultural site and stunning sightseeing up Te Mata Peak. Beginning on the coast, you will gain an appreciation for Maori knowledge (Matauranga Maori) at the Atea a rangi Celestial Compass. From there, you’ll enjoy a wine-tasting and cheese platter at Clearview Winery (with a short tour if the winery is available). We’ll journey through the magnificent Tukituki Valley and then up to the top of Te Mata Peak. All the while learning about the unique culture, geology, botany and history of the region. Explore the Hooters Showroom, showcasing vintage and classic cars, followed by at a stop at Ahuriri Village, a historic fishing village known for its charming atmosphere and the National Tobacco Building, an iconic Art Deco structure perfect for photos.

The 6-hour tour overviews the region, highlighting art deco, orchids, vineyards, sheep farming, cattle farming, deer farming, and so much more. Spectacular rural drive and views. You will visit a lovely “off-track” scenic lookout that looks out over the city of Napier, Hawkes Bay, Cape Kidnappers, and Te Mata Peak. Next, it is off through the area you have just seen along the coast, a hidden valley, and to Te Mata Peak. You will then also visit the largest honey producer in the Southern Hemisphere. You will have time for a short lunch at a cafe in the Hastings area, then back to Napier for a wine tasting before finishing back in Napier by driving through a lovingly kept art deco housing suburb.
